We believe in creating expressions with our learners. When our learners shared drawings about their thoughts on identifying as Indians, we had the idea of creating a virtual art gallery with them. As creators of their brilliant art, we also drafted free verses with them, that they recited for their fellow learners on Republic Day. We hope you enjoy reading them as much as we did!
PEACE
by Gaurang Mishra, Class 5
Freedom to me is about peace, unity, humanity and diversity. In my drawing, you can see flags of countries that make the whole earth. You can also see our hands that hold our planet in unity. I have also made some drawings of buildings and monuments like the Eiffel Tower, Lotus temple, United Nations and a Chinese temple. I think these represent the diversity of our entire world.
My main message is to not harm animals and humans and choose peace over war. The bird in the middle symbolizes this, and she is not only sending peace everywhere she goes but also looking for a peaceful place where no one will hurt her.
FREEDOM
by Paridhi Rawat, Class 3
This drawing has two expressions of being free.
In the first drawing on the top of the page, there is a bird in a cage and she is unhappy. She wants to fly and be free like the birds in the picture on the right side.
In the second drawing on the bottom of the page, Sameera is flying a kite and she is very happy. But Radha is not happy as she has to work very hard to earn a living and doesn’t get any time to play like Sameera.
Through this drawing I want to say that everyone - animals, birds and humans have the right to be free.
PRIDE
by Prabir Singh, Class 2
I love India because
India is free.
And freedom makes us Indian.
I am proud of my army.
Our brave soldiers help India day and night.
Today we are fighting together ,
And I want my country and world to be free from Covid-19!
GRACE
by Suhani Patharia, Class 3
My country’s flag is very beautiful.
Just like the sun looks beautiful in the morning,
Our flag also looks beautiful in the morning sky.
And on Republic Day
It flies high, just like
The blue clouds and free birds.
I love my India very much!
